Events for Every Season in 2025
Hundreds of people of all ages come to Harvey Cedars year after year in the summertime for youth weeks and family weeks, and many more on group retreats year-round!
We also host a few retreats for different types of groups during the fall, winter, and spring. Here’s a quick look at each of them!
Winter Chill | january 10-12
2025 is the third year we are hosting the Winter Chill youth retreat! This weekend is designed for youth groups of various sizes to come together during the busy school year to get refreshed and renewed for the winter. It features engaging chapel sessions with speaker Matthew McNutt of Brandywine Valley Church and worship led by Drew Wagner’s band, as well as fun games and activities for middle-and-high-school students to enjoy.
[new] february Couples Weekend | February 14-16
Couples Weekend has historically been a fall tradition at Harvey Cedars, but this year we’re also offering an opportunity to take your Valentine on a lovely couples’ retreat in February! This is a special weekend designed to help you and your spouse celebrate your most precious gift of marriage. Joe Snyder from NEXT Community Church will be speaking for chapel sessions. Availability is limited as the event is in Bayview Lodge only.
Staff Alumni Weekend | may 9-11
Alumni Weekend is a weekend retreat for those who have been on Harvey Cedars’ staff in the past. Our Summer Staff program has often been a significant part of its participants’ spiritual growth as well as the beginning of many lasting friendships. This weekend provides an opportunity to revisit our beautiful conference center and reconnect with others who have spent their time serving Christ here. Todd Pearage has been speaking for this event for three years now and continues to be involved in the youth ministry for our staff program in the summer.
Faithful Shepherd | May 12-14
Faithful Shepherd from P&R Publishing is an affordable Monday-Wednesday retreat for pastors, elders, ministry leaders, and their spouses. It’s a time for rest and renewal that it necessary for those serving in ministry to continue to shepherd their congregations well. A variety of experienced speakers attend this event and offer stimulating talks and Q&A times on a wide range of topics relating to pastoral ministry and spiritual life.
Youth Leader Summit | May 21-23
The Youth Leader Summit is designed by youth workers for youth workers. It’s a Wednesday-Friday retreat for youth ministry staff and their spouses. It’s an opportunity to come together to worship, learn from experienced speakers, expand networks, and get encouraged, equipped, and refreshed for summer ministry! Josh Griffin, youth pastor and co-founder of DownloadYouthMinistry.com will be speaking for the event.
Autumn Couples Weekend | November 7-9
This November weekend is the original, larger, Couples Weekend. It’s a lovely getaway featuring encouraging sessions geared to restoring and investing in relationships, starting with couples’ relationships with God. It’s a time to fellowship with other couples, spend a quiet autumn weekend at the shore, and remember God’s great calling for marriage. Marriage counselors and conference speakers Fred & Andrea Jacoby will be speaking at chapel sessions this year.
