Undergraduate & graduate internships

An internship at Harvey Cedars is a great opportunity to gain exposure, experience, and maturity in your field, as well as credit towards your undergraduate or graduate degree. Interns are also a blessing to our management staff by sharing the workload while learning and investing in the future.

We are open year-round to provide conference facilities for retreats for hundreds of groups. As such, we are a complex, busy organization providing interns excellent exposure to the world of hospitality, business, and ministry.

Along with a beautiful location between the ocean and Barnegat Bay, we provide:

Internships Available

Internships can be oriented to both undergraduate and graduate requirements. You can either choose one of these categories, or work with your faculty adviser and our staff to design an internship that more specifically aligns with your field of study.

  • For this internship, you would be working with our professional executive team, including:

    • Bookkeeper (CPA)

    • Executive Director (BA Business/MA New Testament)

    • Food Service Director

  • For this internship, you would be involved with capstone development projects and capital campaigns. We have a strategic management team which would involve you in all levels of fundraising from the design phase to implementation.

  • As a busy year-round Christian conference center, there are many opportunities to participate in various aspects of pastoral ministry, including administration, teaching, preaching, and counseling.

  • This internship provides students with exposure to all levels of youth ministry.

    • Administrative back-end: planning, strategizing, managing youth conferences with average attendance of 250-300

    • Networking with local youth leaders

    • Co-leading youth ministry (20-30) during family conferences

    • Supervision and mentoring from staff leader with Children’s Ministry and Education degrees and years of experience

    • Exposure to many types of families and youth

  • Harvey Cedars is not only a bustling ministry with extensive outreach; it is also a well-run hospitality business with opportunities for you to learn and experience all aspects of this growing industry.

    • Food service: purchasing, inventory, food planning & preparation for up to 500 guests

    • Facilities & housekeeping: from rustic to high-end accommodations

    • Hiring, scheduling, and overseeing staff
